About this lot
Impressively large screen print - Peter Schenk studied at the Amsterdam Academy. The artist's oeuvre is extensive and his signature unmistakable. His "dynamic monumental art", as he himself characterizes his work, stands for large forms with moving elements. Spacious, basic, energetic and sensual are key words. In Japan he mastered the art of papermaking. However, the influence of the East does not stop there. In addition to the hand-made paper, you also regularly see organic lines and figures drawn with a long brush in black Japanese ink in his work. In Schenk's work, figuration and abstraction merge smoothly like two languages that complement each other. The works are poetic in atmosphere and in a way narrative. Peter Schenk's work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs all over the world and is included in various museum collections.
