Artist John Lie A Fo is in close contact with the nature and culture of his native region. In his work, he brings to life the myths, customs and customs of the Maroons and Indians. The direct painting seems primitive at first sight, but the symbolism of each part in its rendering must be seen as an intense experience of the ritual mysticism between voodoo and reality. The wooden sculptures, the large murals, the screen prints and the paintings that Lie a Fo makes, reflect the special bond with the Surinamese culture.
