About this lot
Jan Cobbaert (1909-1995) was awarded the Prize of Rome for the first time internationally in 1937. Successful exhibitions and awards at home and abroad follow one another. Many museums in Belgium buy his work. Museums abroad are also showing interest. For example, in Norway, Luxembourg, Denmark and Germany you can now admire Cobbaert's work. In 2010, the Jan Cobbaertplein in Leuven was named after him.
