About this lot
Christian Sommer has worked hard to acquire his painting skills. After training as a graphic artist, he worked as a fashion designer for a number of years. During this time, he developed the ability to interpret and translate subjects and movements into his paintings. He found the limited in-depth visual language of 'beautiful fashion' far too monotonous and switched to the liberal arts. Christian Sommer considers himself a craftsman who gives new expression to subjects, avoiding personal interference. In any case, he tries to portray only the inherent qualities of subjects in a pictorial way. Christian has been exhibiting in public for over 15 years. He has a loyal clientele and his originals are sought after by countless art lovers (at home and abroad). CV: Born on 12/12/1941 – he was trained as a pattern maker – studied at the Offenbach Academy of Art with Prof. Siegfried Rischar – freelance since 1989 – made study trips to Greece, Spain, India, Italy, residencies in Brazil and Cuba – exhibitions in Germany and abroad since 1991.
