There are few cars that can match the Alfa 1600 in terms of pure driving pleasure and it will amply reward the driver who gives it his undivided attention' Car & Driver Unveiled in 1963, the Giulia Sprint GT featured an attractive four-seat body designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. However, the car was not built at Bertone, but at the new Alfa Romeo factory in Arese. Underneath the sheet metal of the new coupe were the five-speed manual transmission, the independent front suspension, the rigid, sprung rear axle and - except on the very first examples - the all-wheel drive discs that had recently been introduced on the Giulia TI 105 series sedan. The Sprint GT produced 106 hp (compared to just 92 for the TI, thanks to twin Weber carburetors), enough power to reach a top speed of 180 km/h. Custom intake ducts characterized the more powerful engine of the 109-horsepower GTV (V for Veloce) Sprint, introduced in 1965. The Sprint was designed for the driver's enjoyment and was a huge success for Alfa Romeo, with production lasting fourteen years until 1977. This Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Sprint GT is from 2 owners since new. It was purchased on February 15, 1966 from Alfa Romeo in Paris. We know this because the original invoice is still present with the car! That's something you rarely come across. She was later bought by her second owner in Paris, who has owned her to this day. She is finished in this beautiful gray paint with the classic yellow headlights. She looks good, but her bodywork shows signs of her age, which gives her a nice patina. Her interior is in beautiful and original condition, made of red leather. Mechanically, it's a driving car, but she could use some love to make it a classic.
