About this lot
Keith Haring Subway drawing "after", In late 1980, Haring noticed that the empty ad spaces of the New York City subway were covered in matte black paper when ad subscriptions expired. He immediately bought some chalk and started drawing. Over the next five years, this became a daily, repetitive obsession
Over a five-year period, from 1980 to 1985, Haring drew more than 5,000 chalk drawings in subway stations in New York City.
His subway drawings are among his best-known and most celebrated work. Of the large number of drawings made in the subway, some were published in a book art in transit and 31 subway drawings. Gallery price 14000€
